Yesterday, I was browsing the internet, and decided to check my Facebook to see if anything new was going on. Little did I know, Avenged Sevenfold had released the single 'Buried Alive' from their upcoming album 'Nightmare' on their Facebook page. At first, the link they put up had crashed due to the amount of fans trying to get in. Once I finally managed to hear the song, I was honestly the slightest bit disappointed due to the great resemblance it has to Metallica - they were one of the bands heaviest influences though, so I guess that's okay. This song, lyrically, is heartbreaking. You can feel Matt's pain as he sings. 'Buried Alive' is a very mellow song, it's very soft during the intro and verses. Near the end, though, at around five minutes in, there's a very Metallica esque breakdown, which fits the song nicely - and there's a touch of screaming on the breakdown, too. The entire song, as a matter of fact, seems like a sequel to the song 'Nightmare' to me. The lyrics resemble each other in ways. I've always been a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan, and I have even better expectations for the new album because of this song. It hasn't been released on iTunes or anything, but if you have a Facebook account, go check out there page .
