While in Target, I wanted to pick up a little something for my five month old great-neice. I found this "chewable" photo album in the infant section. This is a Disney brand Baby Einstein Baby Photo Album. It is made of vinyl and best of all, (but this remains to be tested in time), the baby can slobber all over and chew on this photo album without getting the photos wet.
This album has compartments for six photos measuring 4 x 6 inches. The handle is also a water filled teether. The photo compartments are made in such a way that even the most proficient drooler would have a difficult time trying to soak the photos inside. When I gave this toy as a gift, I photocopied a picture to start out with of the baby's aunt and future uncle. It was a paper copy, not a real photo, so I felt using scanned copies might be a good idea instead of using real photos.
I bought this Baby Photo Album so that when the baby is at the sitter's house, she can look at six different photos of family members: her mom, dad, grandma, auntie, and so on. There was another vinyl photo album toy, but I liked the brighter colors of this one. My neice (the baby's mom) says the baby loves this toy and she didn't have anything like it. I am glad.
I will voice one concern here (it wouldn't be me if I didn't). This toy is made in China and I do know other Disney Baby Einstein toys have been recalled due to the lead paint levels, so I am going to be watching out for this toy by periodically searching online.
I think this toy is a great idea!
