When I was registering for an activity center, I had no idea what one to pick. I finally registered for the one that looked like the most fun. That activity center was the Graco Baby Einstein Discover & Play Activity Center. After my baby shower I was so excited that I set about setting up all my fun gifts including the Einstein Activity Center. It was very easy to assemble and had very thorough instructions. It took me around 5 or 10 minutes to full assemble. The activity center does require 3 "AA" batteries which are not included.
The activity center comes with 9 toys. The toys are very colorful and both of my sons really enjoyed all of them. One of the toys is a lizard puppet which allows you to play along with the baby. Another toy is a circle with 5 buttons (this is the toy that requires the batteries). It has a cow, lion, duck, dog and cat button. When the baby presses on a button, it tells you the name of the animal in English. Press it again and it tells you the name in Spanish. Press it again and it plays a song. Press it one last time and it plays the animals' sound. This toy is by far my second baby's favorite.
The activity center has a cloth seat in the middle that swivels 360 degrees so that the baby can easily reach all the toys. The seat is surrounded by a circular white tray which houses the toys. There are 3 adjustable height positions. The activity center is recommended for babies who can sit upright but weigh less than 30lbs and are less than 32 inches long. The activity center can either be stationary by engaging the 3 pegs on the base or it gently rocks by leaving the pegs upright. My second son actually learned how to turn the activity center into a "walker" by throwing himself backwards in the seat. This actually moved the activity center forward. It was quite amusing to watch as he could get around the room by doing this.
The activity center is very easy to clean. It has a lot of plastic parts that can be washed with soap & water or a mild cleanser. The cloth seat pad can be machine washed and hung to dry. However, I've dried mine in the dryer with no issues.
The activity center is rather large and doesn't fold or break down easily for storage. We had to buy a huge storage container to keep it in (after disassembling it). It is a pain to move it from room to room.
Overall, this activity center provided by sons with hours of entertainment. In fact, my 3.5 year old sometimes likes to get into the activity center and play - even though he is way, way too big to fit comfortably. I highly recommend this activity center to anyone with a baby.
