What little girl doesn't want their own laptop? My daughters all love sitting next to dad while he's working on his computer. We own several toy laptops, but I was able to pick this one up on sale so thought I'd give it a try. The screen is tiny, but that is typical of all the toy laptops I have seen or purchased (that's why they cost $40 instead of $100+!) The screen also has a funny red backlight which I think is kind of distracting, although my kids didn't complain about it. I bought it for my 6 year old for her birthday when she was turning 7 and she was able to use it successfully and enjoyed many of the educational games, espcially the math oriented ones. Altogether there are 30 different games which teach a wide variety of skills (and some just for fun.) I was really happy with the math skills games as I thought they were very helpful in my daughter's practicing skills she had plus learning new ones. The age range on the laptop is 5 and up, and I really think this is a little young. Some of the games are definitely way too advanced for a 5 year old and the laptop itself is difficult to open and sort of non-intuitive to figure out how to select and play some of the games. The design could have been better, but the content is very good. We have been playing with it for about a year now and it has been dropped and stepped on and is still in excellent working condition, so the durability gets my vote! All in all, a fun and educational toy.
