I really had my doubts after seeing the television commercial that this toy elephant would actually be able to grab and swing one of the Kelly dolls onto it's back. Imagine my surprise when I bought it for my daughter and it actually worked! This elephant is from the Barbie Island Princess movie, and it comes with two magnetic Kelly dolls that can be grabbed by the elephant's trunk and swung up onto its back with the magnetic trunk. You have to position the elephant's feet and the doll on an included mat that shows you where to put them, then you turn the elephant's tail and the trunk swings around, grabs the doll, and puts her onto a seat on its back. Pretty cool! It's a bit of trial and error to get the hang of positioning the toys right, but it works more times than not, and I was pretty impressed!

That said, there really isn't a whole lot of play value to the toy once the novelty wears off. But I expected that when I bought it. Most Barbie toys seem to end up like that at our house. At least it wasn't a piece of junk that didn't work the way it was supposed to and my kids were pleased with it when they did play with it. Now if my two year old would stop taking the darn umbrella off the top, we'd be set!
