These are basic boys crew socks. I wish the tops didn’t have quite so much lycra in them, but they are ok.

In my ongoing quest for socks that fit me and that I like, these are the latest selection. My feet are small, and with socks they are just between children’s and women’s sizes. So I’m always looking for kid’s that are a little big, or adult’s that are a little small.

Since these are boys’ socks, in boys’ shoes I wear a 4. These socks will probably be most comfortable for those whose feet are just a little smaller than that. The package is marked for shoe sizes 9 - 2 ½, and I would think that they would be quite large for the small end of that range. They are just borderline large enough for me, but I’m hopeful that they will stretch a little bit. After one washing, the sock on my left foot seems like it might be a tiny bit looser- you can see the gray heel sits more where it should.

The fiber content is 84% cotton, 14% polyester, and 1% lycra.

What I don’t like:

I wish the cuffs were just an inch higher

The tops are just a little stretchier than I like. At the end of a day on my feet my ankles are a tiny bit swollen above the socks.

I’d still like even more cotton content.

What I like:

These are not heavily cushioned in the sole. They do have terry-looped weave on the inside of the foot, but they aren’t super fat.

The gray sole is supposed to be extra durable- I suspect there is more polyester in the fiber there.

They aren’t too wide. I have a narrow foot, and these don’t have extra fabric that just bunches up around my foot

They don’t slide down on my foot.

The toe seam is not bulky, and doesn’t rub on my toes.

There are seven pairs, all alike, so losing one sock won’t be a disaster.

All in all, these are a great deal for $4.29 if they last fairly well.

Update On Apr 02, 2010: These did stretch a little bit so that they fit ok, but they are going to be much too hot for summer, so I'll be on another sock quest.
