Basic Organics L-Lysine

This is a must have product for the medicine cabinet. Basic Organics L-Lysine Ointment with Vitamins A, D, E and Cocoa Butter is a must for the medicine chest, but I also carry this handy sized ointment jar in my purse or backpack too. My son, who has trouble with chapping, cracked lips, also carries a jar of the Basic Organics L-Lysine Ointment in his backpack to school.

The jar is little. It’s only .875 ounces, but it goes a long way and a jar can last you a long time even with daily use. We’ve tried other l-lysine products that come in squeeze tubes or roll on sticks, but this particular brand of L-Lysine has become our family favorite. Why? Basic Organics L-Lysine Ointment works well, and is pleasant to use.

You will have to get your fingers goopy to apply this ointment. However, it’s not overly greasy and easily washes off with any soap and water. The color ends up clear on your skin, which is a big bonus. No one wants to call attention to their face with a big l-lysine glob, especially if you’ve already got a cold sore or cracked, chapped lips.

Another awesome fact about Basic Organics L-Lysine Ointment with Vitamins A, D, E and Cocoa Butter is that is smells good. The cocoa butter scent is very pleasant. I can’t say that it tastes great, because it doesn’t. If you get it on your tongue it will be waxy and a bit off-putting. However, you aren’t supposed to eat or swallow this product; you are supposed to apply it to your skin.

I would personally recommend Basic Organics L-Lysine for any age. I know that my sons are 11 and 12 and use it, and my grandmother who was 91 when she passed away happily used it to heal her chapped lips. With younger children you may want to watch and see if they’re eating it, but I think that the overall taste will have their lips healing, and their tongues tasting other fare.
