This long-cut fleece jacket looks great and seems to be good quality.
After our Adirondack hike this summer my hiking friend and I were shopping for gifts to take home to our hubbies. We visited the Lakeview Ts Store in Old Forge, NY where they had all their shirts and jackets on sale. We each picked out something for our guys and then my friend said that I should pick a jacket for myself as a belated birthday gift! How cool is that?
So I came home with a $40 jacket that only cost her $25 (and me, nothing!). I like that the shirt has an Adirondack logo on it as a momento of the trip, but it is not gaudy and does not draw undue attention to itself.
The jacket tag says BasiX Lifestyle, and the tag says style #PF2010. It is polar fleece and black nylon taffeta. The yoke is taffeta on the outside, but fleece on the inside. The lower fronts are fleece on the outside and taffeta on the inside, so that the zip slash pockets have the taffeta as a backing. It has a front separating zipper that extends to the tips of the collar so it can be zipped up to keep your neck warm on breezy days. There is also a zip breast pocket on the right outside.
You can see that the cut is longer than some fleece jackets, and I like this because shorter jackets tend to ride up in back and get hung up above my bum, looking dorkier than I prefer. (I can be dorky enough without help from my clothes.) There is also an elastic drawstring in the bottom hem with a button-loc fastener at each side seam, but I don’t think I’ll really use it. I like the jacket hanging straight. The underside of the sleeves have strips of taffeta so that your arms don’t “catch” on the sides of the jacket as you swing them while walking. The cuffs are covered elastic, and are not too tight. The jacket also has zip armpit vents. I didn’t even realize this till I got home! This will be great since fleece sometimes gets really hot, in my opinion. There is a hook loop in the center back inside the collar.
I really like the shade of blue. It is sort of a dusty blue so that it will look great with jeans.
The front and slash pocket zippers are heavy-duty plastic. The breast pocket and vent zippers are lighter weight. The fleece itself seems to be medium weight although the tag says “heavy”. I think this will be perfect for spring and fall. I’ve found the heavy fleece to be way too hot for me.
The size on this is Men’s small. The sleeves are a little long for me, but I don’t like jackets to fit tightly, so this is fine.
Made in China.
About the only thing I would want to improve this jacket would be if it had an inside breast pocket. I’m really looking forward to wearing it this fall!
