I have one little girl. Like most Mom's I have passionately enjoyed dressing her up since the day she blessed us with her arrival. I have that 'thing' that some mothers acquire after having children. You know...the 'thing' that allows us to own 2 pairs of jeans and 5 tops that are older than we care to admit, but we spare no expense to expand our little girls wardrobe that is already spilling out the closet. This 'thing' within me is what prompted me to spend $72.00 on a pair of shoes for my child. The shoes are Bear Feet.
Bear Feet are manufactured in Texas and are designed to conform to your child's foot. The are crafted from very soft leather and come in a variety of different styles and colors. The good thing about them is they are certainly adorable. However, after investing in several pairs (much to my husbands dismay) I found myself very disappointed.
First, the sizing is extremely inconsistent. Depending on the style of the shoe, the fit varies dramatically. The closed toe Maryjane style squish my daughters toes, while the sandals in the same size slip off of her. Second, I had some quality issues with several pairs. After wearing one pair only a handful of times, the bottom rubber soles became detached from the shoe. One another occasion, a pair came with spots of glue on the inside of the shoe. In addition, these shoes just don't seem to fit well. My daughter consistently had trouble walking in them.
So yes, Bear Feet are absolutely adorable, but the lack of consistently high quality and the functional side of them just does not justify the $72.00 investment to me.
