On New Years Day, my husband & I were bored, so we decided to take a quick ride over to the casino's in Biloxi, MS. From Mobile, AL, this is an easy and quick ride over, only about 45 minutes. We were originally planning on going to another casino, but due to getting off at the wrong exit, we found ourselves heading to the Beau Rivage, and as far as being a beautiful casino, we were impressed. The exterior of this hotel & casino is absolutely stunning, however being right on the corner of a busy intersection does detract from this somewhat.

Parking was easy as we had either the option for self parking in the attached parking garage or we could have had our car parked by valet parking. We went with this option and dropping off our car was a breeze, however at the time of pickup, the loading & unloading zone became very congested with all the cars.

Once inside this hotel & casino, we were greeted by a very warm and beautiful lobby that has numerous shops and diversions. We were also greeted by the delicious smells of the tempting buffet before we ever entered the casino floor.

Once inside the casino, we were a bit overwhelmed by all the sights, sounds and smells. There was a non-smoking section but most was not and the cigarette smoke smell was a bit much after a while.

We don't go to casino's very often so we just had to walk around for a while and acclimated ourselves to where everything was. There are tons of different slot machines and games available and it took us a little while to find the nickel & penny machines that we like to play.

For us, the machines all seemed to be crammed in together too much and many times it was hard to find an available place to play. Once we did though, we had a great time. Now, instead of coins that you have to cash in, once you put your paper money in the machine, anytime you decide to cash you, it prints a slip of paper with a barcode that tells you how much you have left and you can either take that to the machines that give you your actual money or you can take the paper to another machine, insert it and continue playing with your available balance.

The waitresses were constantly coming around offering free drinks and that was a nice advantage as well.
