I had to buy this when I saw it. For me, one jewelry box isn't enough. At the very least, I need a large one for larger pieces and a little one for small earrings and rings, so they're easier to find. I was very drawn to the intricate carvings on the top and the romantic elements of the hearts and flowers.
This was a steal. I could see it being sold for much more if it was by a name brand. I am not sure of the materials; they're not listed. It feels like ceramic of some sort. The texture is smooth everywhere except on the top where the flowers are. Some of the petals are rough. The label doesn't say who the box is made by. All it says is that it is distributed by Family Dollar and is made in China.
I have noticed a defect in its construction. One of the legs is a bit shorter than the others, so the box is a little off-kilter. The box stays stable, but if I feel like it, I can nudge right where the shorter leg is and the box will move like a wobbly chair. It isn't noticeable, but I know it's there.
Its measurements are 3" high (With the top on) and about 3 1/2" width across the front.
Though the box isn't perfect, it doesn't matter to me. It's beautiful to look at, was beyond inexpensive and helps me organize my trinkets. It even lasted through a move without any of the pieces breaking off.
