I got this beautiful watch as a gift from a long-ago boyfriend. Although that relationship went kaput eons ago, this watch has been my constant companion every single day since 1989! For those not familiar with the Movado brand, it is a high-end Swiss brand known for its "museum-quality" timepieces. My watch could provide quite a testimonial to the quality of Movado's products.
Don't look for doodads and gadgets on a Movado watch. The appeal is in their simplicity...many Movado styles do not even have numbers on the watch's face. What they do all have in common is the single dot at 12, which is meant to represent the sun at high noon. The stainless steel bracelet has gold-tone accents, which means that this watch can be worn with gold or silver jewelry. It's sleek and sophisticated looking, but could never be mistaken for a trendy, inexpensive piece. The scratch-resistant crystal has held up beautifully, and in nearly 20 years, I've only had to replace the battery twice!
I have gotten countless compliments on my watch over the years, and whether I'm wearing shorts and flip-flops or a little black dress, this watch adds just the right amount of sparkle to my arm. At this price, a Movado is certainly not attainable for everyone (I honestly would never have owned mine if it had not been for that ex-boyfriend!), but if you are looking for an heirloom-quality timepiece that can be worn for everyday, this one is a sure bet!
