I think my husband went on an out of town trip at that time and when he came back, he brought me this beautiful purple hardbound book with glistening diamonds on the cover design entitled, Diamonds in the Dust. It was a compilation of 366 devotions for everyday of the year written by the quadriplegic author, Joni Eareckson Tada.

Diamonds in the Dust is a devotional book meant to inspire ladies (and even men, too) to become better persons--to unleash the brilliant gem from within by polishing off the dust and debris from the outside. Written by a person who can only think and move her face (as she has lost the use of her arms and legs), her stories were not only inspiring but truly amazing! I believe it is only God who can do such wonders through her life and who was able to transform her life after her accident.

Sometimes it is so easy for me to give up, especially when times get tough. But I am an able bodied person who can still use all her body parts. For someone like Joni who never gave up on life and doing something good to others, her life is truly amazing.

I would recommend this book for everyone. You can give it as gifts. I am not sure how much it costs because it was a wonderful gift from my husband, but really it is a worthy read. It is really something that can lift up spirits and teach us life's lessons as well.
