Belinda continues the sound that she has honed on her previous albums on this disc, Live Your Life be Free. I always go into listening to a Belinda CD really wanting to like it, as I like her and her voice so much, but her discs are usually somewhat disapointing for me. On this disc, I am disapointed by the average quality of a lot of the material.
This album has two absolutely great songs on it. The title song has great vocals by Belinda and the guitars give it a nice rock sound in parts. I really enjoy this song because of the inclusion of the guitars, something I wish she would do more often. It gives the song a different feel and sound than her songs normally have, more like her work with the Go-Go's. The song Do You Feel Like I Feel is a bit more of a club sound than her other songs and the song is great fun. Its got her signature sound, but is just a bit more dance-oriented than her previous works.
Belinda works her ballad magic on the tune Half the World. Her voice has a wonderful achy sound on the song, making me really believe she is feeling the song as she sings it. I think her strongest work is usually on her ballads as her voice seem particularly suited to them.
The rest of the songs are pretty mediocre and follow the same sound as her other hits, without offering much new to her sound. The songs I Plead Insanity, Little Black Book, and others are fine but unmemorable songs for me. I enjoy listening to them, but would never go out of my way to so do.
This is a decent collection, but could have been much more if she had taken more chances with her sound and searched for some material that was different from what she had already done in the past.
