Songs for Silverman runs in the same vein as Ben Folds' other stuff. That is to say that it has the basic piano playing and the quirky/clever lyrics that Ben Folds is known for. This album, for me, runs a bit too much the same as his other album, but I'm a person who celebrates different qualities in all the music I have, so if you can listen to it and enjoy, that's great. For me, I just supplement this CD to the other one "Rockin' the Suburbs" which I celebrate more. But, Ben Folds, as I've said, is a terrific artist, and just listening to everything he has is a real treat when you're in the mood. I absolutely enjoy Ben Folds, and I'd say that having everything you can from him is pretty essential to a "good" music collection.
