I bought this monitor to play my PS3 on and also have my computer on the other end. Well, it did work, just not as well as I thought. I was very attracted to it because it had DVI and HDMI and VGA, all for under $300. Well, I should have looked just a bit more.
First impressions were that the monitor looked good and was good. Which it was for a while. But then, I started to boot up PS3 on it, I noticed weird pixelated images on it and such. The movies, games, black screens, and all were looking pretty bad. I went on the internet and searched around, and the reason for this was a feature called "Dithering". This puts artificial colors in and messes up the coloring on certain things. Also, the back light bleed was pretty bad on the monitor.
The monitor menu and layout was really good. The menu was clean and easy to get through. The buttons were placed conveintly on the side and easy to work with and touch. I liked the screen in its entirety. it was 22" and had a resolution of 1680x1050 which was good. The things I bought it for though didn't work well.
For the PS3 when I was using it, I set the PS3 to display at 1080p VIA HDMI. Well, it worked in the menu, and in 1080p (native) games and demos. In everything else though, it scaled down to either 720p or 480p (yuck!!). I know that the resolution isn't enough to support full 1080p, but it should scale it down at least like most 22" monitors.
I would go with its 24" brother, which I sold this to buy. It is completely different and better in all areas. My review will be up soon!!!
