Smuggler's Notch Resort, located in Northern, VT near the town of Johnsonville, is a great family resort. This past winter I went there for a family vacation. We used our time share to get a condo for one week. It was absolutely amazing!
As soon as I stepped into the condo it was like I walked into a story book. There was a fireplace in the living room with birch wood piled up right next to it. There was a sliding door with a balacany slightly to the left of the fireplace with a great view of the mountain. It was a large condo and well taken care of too.
The next morning after arriving the night before I made my way down to the main ski lift. At Smuggs (as the locals call it) there are three main mountains, each of them offering something different. My favorite is Sterling mountain, simply because the lift ride is shorter and it offers a lot of different terrain options. Morse mountain is the smallest of the three, the bunny hill (even though it's a fairly large mountain), and Madonna mountain is the biggest, whose peak is usually up in the clouds.Smuggs usually gets atleast a dusting of snow nightly and the trails are very well groomed.
Other than skiing Smuggs has pretty much everything you could ask for. There's the Fun Zone with arcade games, moon bounces, and family activities. Right next to that there is ice skating and an indoor pool and spa. Smuggs has so much to offer that there is no possible way I could write about all of it here.
The skiing was wonderful and when it came time to leave I didn't want to go. I'm sure if you went to Smuggs you would feel the same way. It's a great place to go on a vacation and I would strongly recommend it!
