Betadine is a topical antiseptic for the skin. I don't know of any particular brand name but have been given it by my podiatrist. It is usually used before surgery to cleanse and prepare the skin. It is iodine based and can cause very bad stains on clothing if accidentally spilled.

With neuropathy of the feet from diabetes, I have had many occasions to have ingrown nails or other problems with my feet. My podiatrist has given me betadine on many occasions to put into water to soak my feet to help the healing process. It is also used to clean minor skin injuries. I've used it a number of times and found it to be very helpful to clean and help heal a wound. It's worthy buying and keeping on hand.
