Basically, this product is a very creamy face color in pencil form. I prefer to use the colors mostly on my eyes but some of the colors are versatile enough you could possibly use them else where. Now, I know the Mary-Kate and Ashley brand is geared mostly towards young teens but I couldn't resist the colors and budget-friendly price tag. Plus, I'd checked all the other brands the store carried and the store didn't carry the other brands' version of this type of product.
I bought 3 colors: Subtle (a sheer, coppery, shimmery brown), Daredevil (a sheer, shimmery, snowflake white), and Cool (a sheer, amethyst purple). I also purchased the pencil sharpener because...well...that's the smart thing to do to make sure the sharpener is the right size for the pencil. These are pretty thick, large pencils and I wasn't sure if my sharpener would work. All items were under $3.
I love LOVE all 3 colors I bought. I use all of them on my eyes and the one called Daredevil I use on my tear ducts and as a shimmer on my cheek bones. These are great pencils - they are very long lasting and the colors are fabulous. There are a few shades that are a little too glittery for those of us over the age of 15 but most of them are totally wearable. And the shades aren't as bright as they appear. The store had testers and I tried them all on my hand. They are all very sheer and subtle but can be made more intense by layering.
So, if you are considering a similar product I would suggest you try these. You won't be disappointed and you may just save a buck - or ten. I bought these mostly because I couldn't afford the higher priced high-end ones I was buying. These are just as good and only a quarter of the price. And if you don't like them? You're not out a whole bunch of money.
