I've been through about 3 sets of tires on my current car, and I have not found one brand or model that I want to stick with yet. Basically, everytime I need a new set of tires, I end up trying a new brand or style, in a continual search for tires that I'm completely happy with. The latest tires I've tried are "BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS" Ultra High Performance, All-Season Tires. Unfortunately, these are not the holy grail of tires that I've been looking for either.

First the good points:

1- These tires have great grip on dry roads! Being a "Z" rated tire I expected this, but I still have to say that they are quite impressive.

2- Suprisingly, they also have excellent grip on wet roads. I've been in situations where I had to change directions going a little faster than I'd prefer on a wet road, and these tires never lost their grip. I was quite impressed by that.

Now, the bad points:

1- I didn't really like these tires for driving in snow. They never really felt really "solid" when driving on snowy roads, and they always gave the impression that they were slipping slightly.

2- The ride was pretty harsh compared to some of the other tires I've tried. Maybe this is just the nature of an "ultra high performance tire", but they seemed to amplify all of the expansion joints, pot holes, and even the texture of the road.

3- They are NOISY! This is the first thing I noticed about them when I drove away from the installer. Even at low speeds (30-40 MPH) the road noise was quite pronounced, and highway speeds they were far worse. Unfortunately they're getting even louder as they age.

I've read that the treadwear rating on these tires is one of the best in the class, but I honestly don't think I'll keep them long enough to find out if that's true. I won't be buying these tires again.
