I picked up the Bissel Featherweight to use as a vacuum for the upstairs of the house. Instead of dragging a full size vacuum up the stairs for rooms that are bare floor with throw rugs, a stick vacuum seemed to be the best solution.

The Featherweight was very east to assemble - snap the handle to the canister, and slide the floor attachment onto the end of the vacuum.

The Featherweight can be used as a stick vacuum, or the handle and floor attachment can be removed and used as a handheld vacuum, which is nice.

The floor attachment is hard to use on carpet and low-pile rugs, however. The wheels do not move easily, it feels like you are dragging the vacuum along rather than an easy sweep. Hardwood, however, is fantastic. Very smooth, no damage to the floors thanks to rubber wheels.

Even though using the Featherweight on carpet was not easy, this vacuum cleaned very well. It picked up more pet hair and dust from the carpet than I knew was there! I was impressed with the power this small vacuum was able to deliver.

Emptying the canister isn't too bad - the filter stays on the handle side, so you do have to balance it over the garbage can a little to ensure that you don't drop the dust back onto the ground. The filter is also removable to clean.

The only real complaint I have about this vacuum is that while you can detach the handle to use this as a handheld vacuum, the cord holder is on the handle - meaning you have to unwrap the entire cord in order to use this as a handheld. Not a big deal if you are already using the vacuum and have the cord unwrapped, but it can make your quick clean up a little more time consuming.

All in all, I am very pleased with this vacuum and would recommend it to others!
