Anyone who has ever owned a puppy knows that they love to chew. My 8 mo. old Lab is no exception. From the day she joined our family, she has tried to chew almost anything in her sight. We were desperate to find a way to protect our furniture and anything of value until we could teach her what was off limits. Thankfully, we discovered Bitter Apple. It comes in an 8 oz. spray bottle, which is a great size to keep handy on a table or carry with you if necessary. This product helps to deter chewing and makes things like flowers less appealing. Our dog likes to chew toys or bones and push them underneath the couch. This pattern has gotten old for us as we are constantly having to get on the floor and pull out the item. We began spraying Bitter Apple on the couch fabric when she did this and she took her toy elsewhere. We've sprayed wood furniture, fabric and even plants with no adverse affects. We bought several bottles and had them nearby so we could intercept her when she first showed interest in something that was off limits. As soon as she sees the bottle now, she backs off. All we do is pick up the bottle and show it her. Now, she is trying to get rid of this product. When we aren't looking, she'll grab the bottle and run with it. She definitely doesn't want to chew that! My only complaint is that the taste doesn't last long, so it has to be used repeatedly if the pet persists.
