I love my BlackJack! The reception is what first got me because I have tried every carrier and have never been able to get reception inside my house. With my Blackjack the clarity is never compromised. I was shopping for a phone/pda with internet and email capability. The BJ has that and I liked how it fit in my hand. The QWERTY keyboard instantly made life easier. I never thought I would be so involved in texting and emailing from my phone but I am hooked. I am more productive and efficient by being able to respond quickly. The internet connection is not consistent which is a little frustrating. Once connected it is blazing fast but GETTING connected is hit and miss... I would say 80% of the time I am able to connect with no problem. I have had trouble with the numbers corresponding with automated extensions, "spell the first 3 letters of your parties last name"... I actually have to try and memorize the number/letter representation on a standard phone to proceed. I understand that has been worked out in the Blackjack II, as has the problem with the bad design of the flaps on the outside that cover the ports. I have downloaded mp3s and played them with ease. I am not a techie by any stretch of the definition so that says something. Short version: the BJ made it so easy to leave my palm pda and old cell phone behind to merge into one easy to use and easy to carry machine. It is so friendly I even sleep with it under my pillow and use the BJs alarm to wake up in the morning to the sound of whatever inspires me. Currently, it's me, BJ and BlackEyedPeas!
