Well, I'm off and running with another mystery. This one, Blood Orange Brewing, is written by Laura Childs and is a part of her Tea Shop Mysteries. It is the first novel I've read in this series, but won't be the last.
Now a little bit about the book. Theodosia Browning owns The Indigo Tea Shop and enjoys brewing some delicious blends. She and her coworkers are catering a fundraiser, the Candlelight Concert, and the affair is going nicely. That is, until one of the affluent benefactors is murdered. Nothing like a death to put a damper on things. The victim's wife knows that Theo has a knack for sleuthing, and she asks for Theo's help in finding out who killed her husband and why. With the help of her friends and coworkers, Theo does some investigating and finds out some surprising things.
Even though the plot wasn't the best I've ever read, and there were some loose ends that I didn't feel were properly tied up by the end of the book, I still felt that Laura Childs wrote an interesting novel. This is another mystery series I intend to follow. Blood Orange Brewing also includes some recipes and tips on brewing tea. If you are a tea drinker, and even if you aren't, you probably would enjoy reading this mystery and following Theo on her quest to learn about a murder. She finds out other things as well, some of which are completely unexpected. Not the strongest mystery I 've ever read, but still enjoyable.
