This is second book in Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. The first book is Darkfever. Honestly I liked this book more than the first book. I loved the intense story, eroticism, sensuality, bloodshed, secretiveness, and drama. I can not wait to read the next book in the series Faefever. This is a must read series for any paranormal fan. Karen is a terrific author; I have read many of her historical highlander romances.

Mackayla Lane's ordinary life underwent a complete makeover when she landed on Ireland's shores and was plunged into a dark, deadly realm unlike any she ever imagined. In her fight to stay alive, Mac must find the Sinsar Dubh-a million-year old book of the blackest magic imaginable that holds the key to power over both the worlds of Fae and Man. Pursued by Fae assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she cannot trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men: V'lane, the insatiable Fae, who can turn sensual arousal into an obsession for any woman; and the ever-inscrutable Jericho Barrons, a man as alluring as he is mysterious.

For centuries, the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them...

My thoughts: Mac is darker and edgier in this book. Jericho is a man of mystery and the story makes you want to know all of his secrets. Mac and Jericho are perfect for each other, but yet they seem reluctant to admit it. V'Lane is one of those characters you are not sure you like or hate. The story is good from beginning to end. I can not wait to see how this series plays out, this book leaves you wanting more. Even the cover of the book is intriguing.
