I purchased a 2007 new BMW X3 in Sept. of 2007 because I wanted some more cargo space. I traded in my BMW 328, just not enough space in there for my new dog - a Great Dane. I love BMW so I thought I would check out their SUV models.

The X3 is the smaller of their two SUVs there is also the X5 which is much larger. The back cargo space is great, plenty of room. The back seats fold down and are split if you need the space. There is also a privacy screen to pull down over the cargo space if needed.

My favorite feature of this vehicle is the Panoramic Sunroof. That sunroof pretty much covers the entire roof. It can open half way but with the whole roof open it's much like a convertible without all the wind! I do love that.

The two negatives I have about this car are the leg room and the pick up. The leg room for the backseat is practically nonexistent so bear that in mind if you plan on having adults in the back seat on a regular basis. The front is very spacious. Also I think the shifting and beginning pick up are a bit jerky. I am comparing this to the BMW 328 that I drove prior and while I realize the weight off the SUV does make pick up speed less, I think this is just too rough for me.

Gas mileage has been about 19 city mpg and 24 highway mpg.

Overall I really like this model. The all-wheel-drive system has been great this winter!
