Fireside is the latest book in the Lakeshore Chronicles series by bestselling author, Susan Wiggs. Fireside continues the stories that are set in the small town of Willow Lake. This book is the story of Bo Crutcher who has been tapped to be a baseball player in the major leagues. He is all set to leave the town when he discovers the son that he has not been allowed to acknowlege has been thrust into his life. The mother of his son has been taken by authorities to be deported because she has no papers that states that she is allowed in the US. So his son will be staying with him until this matter is cleared up.

Also in town is Kimberly van Dorn, who has left a lucrative job in Los Angeles to see her mother and get over a relationship. KImberly has a lot of healing to do and also get through some shocks of her own within her family. She makes a shocking discovery about her father that throws her for a loop and her mother who has turned the family house into a boarding house so she can make ends meet. There is a lot of surprises in store for these two as their lives collide. I really enjoyed this book, as well as the series. Susan Wiggs knows how to keep her readers interested and intrigued at the same time. If you are Susan Wiggs, fan, you will not be disappointed by this book. I highly recommend this book to any who wants to read her books.
