My husband brought this movie home from the video store one day and I didn't think much about it. He said he'd always wanted to see it and heard it was really good. From looking at the cover of the case, I figured it was just a "guys movie" of fast action and guns. I wasn't really interested in watching it, but I did anyway. I sure am glad I did! I absolutely loved it!

Now don't get me wrong, this is a "guy's movie" of guns and cursing, but it has so much humor in it that it really makes watching it enjoyable. I do like "guy movies", so maybe someone who does not like movies with lots of blood and killing would still not like this even with all the funny lines. This is NOT a movie for kids! It is not rated because it was never released to theaters due to the content and timing of the Columbine shootings, but I'm sure it would have been rated R!

Boondock Saints stars Willem Dafoe as the detective after the people responsible for the killings of many Russian mafia members and general "bad people" of Boston. This is being done by 2 Irish twins played by Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus. The twins believe they are on a mission from God to rid Boston of crime and all those who commit sins. They are later joined by their friend who leads them to more and more mafia members. When things start to go too far, the head of one mafia family decides to set the most vicious mafia killer out to kill them. Let me tell you...the end has an awesome twist all around!

The DVD comes with some extra features including commentary, backgrounds on the movie and actors, and movie trailers. Our favorite part was the deleted scenes and outtakes. There is one deleted scene where the boys' mother calls from Ireland on St. Patrick's Day. It was hilarious!

We plan on buying this movie now that we know we both love it. I have even been on different websites looking for soundboards and some of my favorite clips from the movie. If you don't mind blood, violence and cursing...this movie is well worth buying!
