Boston, MA is a very awesome place to visit. If you have never been there, you certainly should spend sometime because it is rich with culture, entertainment and shopping.
Boston has some of the oldest places in the country, so there is alot of history. Paul Revere's church, the freedom trail, boston tea party, are just a few of the historical significances of the city.
I've lived all over the city. I went to Boston University so I got to spend some time in a beautiful brownstone right on the Charles River, near Feway Park. Its a really nice area, especially for the collegiate crowd. There are so many students in Boston, its a great (And fun) place to go to school!
I also used to live in Beacon Hill which is the nicest part of Boston. Its the oldest part too, so the streets are lined with gas lamps and are very narrow and cobblestone. I certainly recommend checking that out because its right near the beautiful State House. If you watched the Departed, Beacon Hill is featured highly in the movie.
Next to Beacon Hill is the Back Bay, which is also a ver nice and expensive area. This is where the shopping is great. If you're interested, you should definitely go to Newbury and Boylston Street where the stores are lined up one after another.
One of my favorite places to visit is the New England Aquarium because its the nicest Aquarium in the North East! I also used to work there, so perhaps I am a little partial to it. Our Zoo, the Franklin Park Zoo is also a great place to bring Children of all ages. I sometimes love to go the Museum of Fine Arts or the Museum of Science and spend my whole day there. There are very many educational things to do in Boston. Oh and you can't forget that we're home to the world champions - the Red Sox and the Patriots! Also, the Bruins and the Celtics....so if you love sports, Boston is a great place to visit.
If you're there in the winter, you can go to the Common (a beautiful park in the middle of the city) and ice skate on the frog pond, or if you're there in the summer you can go to the Common and take a famous swan boat ride. A great time to visit is for First Night - Boston always plans a big party for New Years Eve. This year I'll be staying in a hotel downtown, right in the midst of all the festivities and college students partying. Another great time is the 4th of July, because Boston is where it all started! I like to go to the Esplanade, a park on the charles river, and lay out all day listening to the famous bands and watching the fireworks.
For a more economical stay, check out the Marriott on the Harbor or the Hyatt in Downtown Crossing. If you're going the luxurious route, stay at the Ritz Carlton. My favorite hotels in Boston are the Nine-Zero and Boston Harbor Hotel - it certainly has the best view!
