I grew up listening to country music. Mainly because thats what was played in my house. I have since aquired a more broad range of musical interests but country is still my favorite. So I am very pleased that my sons also enjoy country music. I bought this CD because they like a couple of the songs.

Let me just say, I have like Brad Paisley since he first came on the music scene. His style tends to lean more to traditional country than a lot of the new artists out today. I also enjoy that he injects some comedy into a few of his songs.

5th Gear is Brad Paisleys fifth album and in my opinion his best. It is produced by Arista Records and distributed in the U.S. by Sony BMG music. This CD contains 16 tracks, 11 of which were written or co-written by Brad Paisley.

I mainly bought this Cd because of the song Letter to Me. This is a wonderful song about a man wishing he could write a letter to himself as a teenager to tell him everything would turn ou fine in the end. I also like the song Online which is a amusing song about how someone totally changes their identity when they are on the internet. The song Oh Love is a lovely song done as a duet with Carrie Underwood.

This CD is also a wonderful showcase for Brad Paisleys guitar abilities. The last track on the CD is an instrumental titled Throttleneck. This is a fast paced song that shows just what Brad can do with a guitar. This is technically the last track but if you keep listening there are two hidden tracks at the end. One is bloopers from the Grand Ole Opry and the other is Brad and other Opry stars telling jokes.

While I like some songs more than others I liked all the songs on this CD. So if you like traditional country music, mixed with some comedy and excellent guitar playing, check out Brad Paisleys 5th Gear.
