Whether you fish for sport or for food, we all want to know which lure will bring in the fish. I recently found these Storm brand lures at our local Wal Mart and refuse to use anything else in the clear waters of a local lake.
The particular Storm Lure I prefer to use is called "Wildeye Crappie" It is made of a rubbery material equipped with a treble hook that dangles from it underside and a single hook protruding from its back. Their tale is completely free to "swim" through the water. I have caught a number of large mouth Bass and a few drum perch on this particular lure and would not trade it for anything else.
The lure comes in packs of 3 and are found at many fishing equipment retailers. I have found them to average in price at about $4.50. We have purchased them at Gander Mountain, Wal Mart, and some local bait shops.
The only major problem I have with using it is it tends to catch up on rocks fairly easily. It swims pretty deep and the treble hook on the bottom of it makes it easy to get caught up. They are sometimes easy to unsnag, but I have lost a few due to having them catch up to a point where they were hopeless.
They are heavy enough on their own that no additional weights are needed on the line and they are very easy to cast out. I would recommend this lure to anyone who enjoys catching fish. I have even caught fish with these on days that no one else is even getting a nibble from the fish. The largest fish I wrangled in with one was a drum perch that was about 20 pounds. Since Fish primarily eat other fish, these realistic lures are sure to work.
