Well, theres nothing worse than having a refrigerator or freezer full of food, die... Thats what happened to me, freezer full of food, and it went. I called a service place to see about getting it fixed. Besdie the service call, it would have been almost as much to fix the old one, as it is to get a new one.
SO, off to the internet I went. I found this online at Best Buy. I already knew what I wanted, regarding space, and brand, and this was avaliable locally. I was able to purchase it online, and when I went to pick it up, it was alreday pulled and waiting in the back for me to pick up. ( i was amazed at that part).
This is very lightweight, it only weighs 155 pounds and is very easy to move around for 2 people. I like the fact that this door, has it's handle to the side, and its hiden in the door, (kind of like a car), so nothing sticks out. I used to catch myself on my old freezer's handle when walking by all the time.
This Freezer has plenty of space for my family. It has 4 shelves inside and also has more space on teh door for smaller items that you dont want to get lost.
I like the upright freezers, as you dont have to bend over, and search through a dark freezer trying to find frozen foods.. (it is just me, or do pork and steaks look a lot alike when frozen?)
This also has an interiro light, so if you have it in a basement, or garage, it's pretty bright when searching for what you need.
The drain plug is right in the middle of the bottom shelf, inside. You just pull it, and it opens. This is what they call frost-free, so not too much icey frost tends to build up.
The shelves are a vinal coated metal, so its nice to wipe down, and not get food wrpapers stuck to them.
So, the major likes for this are, its size, inside light, no protruding handle outside, and it's upright. Oh, and the price. Yes, its pricey, but not as expensive as some of the larger ones.
