I was visiting San Francisco and taking in some of the sites around the Haight and Ashbury area with a friend of mine, when we came across this shop, Genesis Imports. We stopped in and I took a look around at some of the great imported items they had when the music that was playing in the shop caught my ear. I really liked it so I asked the person behind the counter about the music. He in turned showed me the cd, and it was Buddha-bar IV. It was also for sale in the shop, so I decided to get a copy to take home. Even though it wasn't in my price range of what I usually spend, over time it has paid for itself in enjoyment. Buddha-bar IV is a eclectic mix of world music on 2 cds in a box set. Cd 1 is titled Dinner, and Cd 2 is titled Drinks, and both contain 14 tracks each. Produced by David Visan this set includes various artist with a broad range of music styles and sounds. Some of the 28 song titles and artists include:
* Novel sound /Llorca
* Tibet (a passage to) / Tibet Project
* Party People / Time Passing
* Moon Rise / Nitin Sawhney
This is just but a small few named here. All are well worth listening to, and this is definitely a great set to pop in the stereo and have playing low in the background. Especially while you are going about your daily chores and such around the house, or just relaxing reading, etc. There are various sources you can get a sound sample around the web to decide if this is for you, Amazon.com, Youtube, to name a couple. If you get a chance go check it out. It is very different than main stream radio / cds and there are more in the buddah-bar series of box sets besides this one.
