I try to find Deet free insect repellant but don't really care for the smell of citronella. So I was glad to find that Jason's had developed a safe, deet-free repellant that doesn't use citronella but uses oil of geranium instead.
Last year we had a big problem with flies - even in our store and they were the kind that loved to bite - HARD! I opened up the tester bottle of this Jason's "Quit Bugging Me!" spray on lotion and it worked immediately. The label says it also works on mosquitos and gnats but to be honest I didn't stay outside much last summer so I didn't try it.
But I actually LIKE the scent and was glad the biting flies seemed to hate it.
Here are the active ingredients: Soybean Oil (2%), Geranium Oil (2%)
Other (inert) Ingredients: Purified Water, Coconut Oil, Stearic Acid, Vegetable Glycerine, Lecithin, Citric Adic, Sodium Bicarbonate, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Benzoate.
It is all natural and organic making it safe for children over 6 months and pets.
I can't guarantee it will work on the MMAF (Minn Mosquito Air Force) as those monsters seem to be unstoppable but I would certainly give it a try if I could run fast enough if it didn't work!
I like Jason's products and was glad to have an option like this available for bug-free living in Texas summers.
