The Bumbo baby chair is a seat for babies. It is made of a single piece of stiff foam that is molded to fit around baby, making it possible for babies as early as 8 weeks to be supported in an upright position. The seat of the chair dips down lower than the baby's legs, so baby does not tip over.
We got a lot of use out of our Bumbo. We brought it on picnics and to restaurants and sat our baby right on the table. It is a good alternative to trying to bring a car seat in and balancing it on an overturned high chair.
These are easy to clean and disinfect. They offer a number of attractive colors that will match nearly any baby room decor.
Babies that are on the upper end of the scale as far as size may not be able to use the Bumbo for long. We began having difficulty taking our 20 pound 5 month old out without having to hold the seat down (so it took two of us). But, it is around this time when baby starts to sit up unaided, so this wasn't a big problem. While we used this seat a lot, we didn't use it for long. By the time the infant is ready for it, they are 2-3 months old and will probably use it only until they're 5-6 months old. So, for the price the amount of use it will get might not translate into a very good bargain.
