The family went to Baguio several times during summer. We love the great climate there during summer season as compared spending the vacation in the hot city. The "Summer Capital of the Philippines" and "City of Pines" offer local and foreign tourists not only great climate but the serenity of the place surrounded with lovely nature.
Burnham Park is one of the places we never forget to visit when in Baguio. It is so relaxing for me and my wife to lie down and have some small picnic in the park's ground together with other guests. They can run and hit the playground. Go boating in the lagoon of the park. Buying fresh fruits and vegetables or some food in the nearby eatery.
Now (October 2009), I can't imagine how this lovely and serene park turns into after a super typhoon hit the northern Luzon. There are many mudslides, flooded area and devastated properties reported in Baguio. It is another calamity that people from Baguio need to overcome again after the 1996 earthquake.
