I just finished watching The Lovely Bones. It is, hands down, one of the best movies I have ever seen! I literally spent about 70% of the movie sobbing like a child. It is a touching story about a 14 year old girl, Suzie Salmon (played by Saoirse Ronan), who was brutally murdered by a very sick man (played by Stanley Tucci). Throughout most of the movie Suzie is in "limbo". For Suzie to pass on to heaven, and for her family to be able to heal, she must first let go of her human life. But Suzie decides to stay in "limbo" for awhile to watch over her family and to watch the drama unfold. Suzie watches her family struggle to cope with her death, and her father (played by Mark Wahlberg) try to solve her murder. There are plenty of interesting twists and turns in this movie that I don't want to give away, you have to watch to fully understand. The only reason I rated the movie a 4.9 is because there were a few parts that confused me a bit. Other than that I very thoroughly enjoyed the movie! The Lovely Bones is set to hit theaters January 15th and I highly recommend you see it.
