Call of Duty 4 is, obviously, the 4th installment in the Call of Duty series. The version I am reviewing is for the XBOX 360. Call of Duty 4 is a really well put together shooter, it is a rail shooter, meaning that they have you on a set path, but what drives the game is the amount of story that they have put forth. It has invented some new, very engrossing story telling elements including, very interactive cutscenes. This means that you actually get to play these cutscenes so the gameplay never really stops. Without ruining some of the plot points let me just say that this game has the ability to tug on your heart strings.
With that said the multiplayer is where COD4 shines. This mode is so addictive due to the fact that you can create your own character class, and they have these things called perks, which help to slightly differentiate you character from the rest, they range from letting you carry a few extra grenades, to steadier aiming while sniping. You gain these perks as you progress through the ranks which is also a very addictive element of play.
This game is GREAT and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes shooters. I give it a 4.5 out of 5
