The newest and most jaw-dropping game in the Call of Duty franchise made over $360 million on its release date in the U.S. and U.K. alone. I guess it's not too far-fetched to also say there were 2.6 million gamers on Xbox Live, logging over 5.9 million hours of gameplay! Playstation Network also had a massive influx of online gamers because of Black Ops. Black Ops broke the 5-day record of $650 million, which passed its 2nd place predecessor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which amassed $550 million in its first 5 days. So if you take those 10 days and add them together, you'll realize just how successful the Call of Duty franchise is, making over $1.2 billion in those 10 days, wow!
There is good reason for all the hype though. There are a multitude of new weapons, perks, and features throughout the game. The gameplay and controls are smooth and the graphics are awesome. You'll love the campaign, as it is probably the best and most thought-out campaign to date.
However, the most anticipated part of the game is the online portion. Everyone who plays online loves Call of Duty. The game's level system has always set itself apart from the pack of first-person shooters. They have tweaked the level system a bit, but I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
Black Ops also brought back Zombies! Everyone remembers zombies from Call of Duty: World At War, right? Well, if you don't, it was awesome. Zombies is a fun and exciting way to play with friends and kill a bunch of crazy zombies while having a great time. Overall, I give the game a 4.9 out of 5. I'm not giving it a 5.0 because there is no more 3rd person, which I loved in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
