Introduction

Call of Duty World At War, is the sequal of the hugely popular Call Of Duty Modern Warfare. Unlike Call of Duty 4, World At War is developed by Treyarch instead of Inifinty Ward. World at War Is the most popular multiplayer game on Xbox LIVE. On Febuary 26th World at War broke the LIVE record with over 300, 000 players online.

Storyline

Call of Duty World at War or WAW as i'll refer to it throughout my review has a extensive storyline following the Red Army's push to Berlin and the American Marines fight with the Imperial Army. Its campaign cutscenes were written by movie screenwrites. The campaign isn't the longest if i'm honest. There are around 15 missions and each have an average playing time of 20 mins. The graphics of the game are amazing and if you have a HDTV with HDMI you're in for a treat! However this game wasn't designed to be a storymode thriller, it was made to defend it's multiplayer game of the year medal. Which it does, easily.

Multiplayer

WAW's multiplayer is unmatched and unrivaled. The gameplay is similar to Call Of Duty Modern Warfare's, but quite right why change a winning formula? The perk system is back with new additions to the range including a M2 Flamethrower! There are many weapons each with indvidual upgrades including suppressors, aperture sight and box magazines. The maps are good with lots of open ground, bulidings and for you campers;lots of bushes. However for younger players, multiplayer is not advised. The game is very gore filled, and as online gaming is not rated by ERSB WAW's multiplayer could easily quailify as an 18. Parental discretion is advised.
