I've been a hardcore Cannibal Corpse fan for quite a while, about 5 years to be exact. So, I feel as though my opinion is well developed for judging their music. I waited forever for this album because I thought that they might redeem themselves after the "Kill" let down. Evisceration Plague turned out to be a bigger let down than Kill was. None of the tracks are very original and only a few songs have decent riffs. I know that they can produce better music than this. I'm not saying that Cannibal Corpse sucks now because they're still one of the best Death Metal bands but this album just doesn't cut it for me. It's ridiculously brutal. They've stated that they focus their talent and ability on making their music brutal and not to just show off but I think they've reached their peak with this one. Some Death Metal fans say that nothing is ever too brutal but this album is and it's far surpassed that level of brutality. It's still a good album compared to other bands of the genre but when you compare it with the standard that they, themselves have set it's just not acceptable.
