Canon PIXMA MX340

I retired from a large company in 2009. When I finally began to realize that I had rested long enough and was ready to be productive again, I became an independent contractor. I discovered that I needed to set up my office. In that office one of the major items I required was one item that performed the following functions: printing, copying, scanning and faxing. However, all had to be of high quality. I could not afford anything that was of cheap quality with cheap images and obvious flaws. But, with limited funds to work with, I had to begin with the basics. I began to search around for items of high quality at minimal cost. I knew Canon was a name that signified quality, dependability and they stood behind their products. So, I decided on a Canon all-in-one combo product I discovered at Wal-Mart.

The cost was the determining factor in my purchase. I first noticed that the PIXMA MX340 cost $69.00 with an MSRP of $129. The next thing I noticed was that it was a fax, printer, copier and scanner all in one. I then noticed that boldness and deep color of the printouts was amazing for the price. Since Wal-Mart had only two left, I quickly grabbed one of the remaining two and headed to checkout.

When I returned home, I immediately had the printer set up and began using it for a report I had to get out that day. I must say, it was not a disappointment. The print was almost the same quality I had become accustomed to from my previous job. The speed was exceptional: within seconds, a copy was shooting out of the system. My scanner was superior with single scan or multi page scanning option. An infant could walk through the setup process in seconds. The noise level is average when copies first begin to initialize. However, after a few seconds, the documents are ready with no other problems or added wait.

My recommendation is anyone just beginning to set up their home office should consider checking out the Canon line.
