I got the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS as a Christmas gift. This is a 12.1 mega pixels camera that has 4x optical zoom. This camera features smart auto, optical image stabilizer, red eye correction, PictBridge and other features. It is a small camera and fits in a pocket. It comes in colors such as silver, blue, pink and green. Mine was the silver one. It also comes with a USB Interface Cable IFC-400PCU cord, Digital Camera Solution CD-ROM, AV Cable AVC-DC400, a 128 MB memory card and a wrist strap of. This calmer runs on two AA alkaline batteries. The thing about these point and shoot cameras is a generally sell well because they're cheaper than a good camera. However, they generally have problems. This camera was nice because it was small and if the shooter stands still and steady it takes good pictures of people not moving.

This camera does have problems such as it can be a little slow at taking pictures, it uses alkaline batteries very rapidly and sometimes the pictures are blurry if you are not completely still when taking them. Pictures taken in dim light do not do well either. When taken in the evening in a room with fluorescent bulbs in the lamps the pictures ended up being yellowish.

Overall, if one wants quality pictures every time they take them no matter what the situation they might be better off saving up and buying a good camera. I believe that's what I will do.
