I just ordered a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS digital camera from Amazon.com. I'm not a digital camera expert or anything, so I'm going to start out by mentioning some facts about this camera.

It has a 12x optical zoom and it's 12.1 mega pixels. According to the user manual you can take up to 130 shots if you're using alkaline batteries and up to 370 when using NiMH batteries. A 4 GB memory card should be able to hold up to 1, 231 photos and a 16 GB card will hold 5, 042 shots. If you're filming a movie you can only record movies that are 10 minutes long.

I've only been using this camera for about a week but so far I love it. The only negative thing I can think of is that this Canon PowerShot camera is a little bulky. I am one of those people that is constantly on the go but I like to travel light, so I wish this camera was a little slimmer. But other than that, it's a great camera. It's very easy to use and is pretty much "fail proof". It has a dial on the top that you can use to switch to different settings depending on the situation. It has a setting for portraits, people and pets, and landscapes. It even has a "smile detect" feature where it will automatically take a picture when a smile is detected.

It has a timer feature which is really easy to use. I've had cameras in the past that had the timer feature but it was really annoying to use because you had to hit a ton of buttons to set it. But the timer on this camera is super easy to use. You just hit the button, select how many seconds you want it to wait, then hit the shutter button and that's it!

I recently filmed my dog playing and I didn't notice it at the time, but I had held my finger over the microphone the entire time. So I assumed the sound would either be terrible or not there at all, but the sound is great. According to the user manual, if you hold your finger over the microphone you shouldn't be able to hear anything, but that didn't happen. So either I got really lucky or this camera is more awesome than Canon wants to admit!

The Canon PowerShot also has a flash that you can pull up when you want to use it and put back down when you don't, so that is really convenient.

As I mentioned before, the only thing I dislike about this camera is its size. I wish it were slimmer. But other than that, it's a great camera and it was definitely worth what I paid for it.
