Way back in the 70's I lived in Minnesota and during the cold winters I would develop chapped lips. I think I tried every lip balm that was made to get relief. I always bought the stick-type lip balms because they were easy to apply. But they always seemed waxy, and in the cold weather they got even waxier! One day I decided to try the Carmex lip balm. Back in those days it only came in a small jar. It wasn't as user friendly as the swivel-up stick-type applicator, and I figured it would be a pain in the backside to use this product! To be honest with you, the application was an inconvenience, but the result on my chapped lips was phenomenal! This was good! I was willing to put up with my finger application method just to have softer lipts. The menthol was a nice touch too.
At one point I traveled to another state that didn't have Carmex for sale. Every time I visited I would pack a bunch of the little Carmex jars and give them out to my deprived friends who also loved the lip balm. Eventually the Carmex market spread and they were able to purchase their own small jars.
These days the packaging has changed and I use the tube-type Carmex. (It's called the EZ Applicator) You can still buy it in the 'old fashioned' package but this is easier for me. Also to keep up with the times, it comes in a variety of flavors.
It stays on a long time and gives a shine to the lips, which may not be a feature that men would want on their lips. When eating, it doesn't stay on as well as the waxy stuff.
I use it every day, several times a day, even applying it over my lipstick. There's a stash of Carmex in my home office, in my bathroom and I carry one in my purse. This is good stuff! Try it. Your lips will thank you!
