A couple of years ago, I was planning a two week vacation with my husband. We were flying to New England, then planned to visit different states. While thinking of what I'd need to keep with me both while flying or driving, I realized that my regular purse just wouldn't work.
I found this bag at Kohl's and passed it by a couple of times for one reason. I like an outside compartment for car keys, cell phone, and other small items and this bag did not have one. I found myself drawn back to it a couple of times after going through dozens of other purses that I didn't like or they weren't what I needed.
Each time I saw this bag, I liked it and was disappointed that it didn't have my one requirement, the outside compartment. I picked it up and examined it closer and the more I looked at it, the more I could see that it would work fine. It's bigger than my usual purse, but it was comfortable on my shoulder. It has a large zipper compartment inside with large open pockets on each side of that. I could put my wallet and other valuables inside the zipper compartment and leave the other items in the sides.
Thinking this through, I knew I'd have flight and itinerary papers that I'd need to have easy access to, which this gave me with an open side compartment. Medications, a hair brush and other items would easily fit into the other side and I'd know which side to look in. I was also going to be carrying a digital camera plus a camcorder while driving and I wanted easy access to those, which this allowed. It all fit in with no problems and I was able to reach what I was looking for.
In one side, there is a small zipper compartment in the lining where I kept small items like make-up and nail clippers. On the other side was an open pocket that was perfect for car keys and other small items, plus another smaller pocket beside it that was apparently meant for my cellphone. As it turned out, I was able to make this purse work very easily without the outside compartment that I was so set on having.
The bag is 15"x9"x9" (not including the handles). It has leather trim and an attractive fabric design that goes up the side. It is very well made and as someone who is very hard on her purses. I am extremely happy with how well it has held up.
Quality of anything is always an issue, but if you pay a lot, you expect more. In this case, I got a real bargain as this bag was normally $65.00, but had been marked down to $12.00. I decided that if it didn't work out well or last long, I hadn't lost much money. Instead, I now wish I had bought two, so I'd have another when this one eventually wears out.
