Seeing as how "Cars" was the number one animated movie of last year, I had to get the DVD and see for myself. The results were, well, mixed. See, I tend to fall asleep if I have to sit still for more than an hour after 9pm. So, even though I was enjoying the movie, I still managed to fall asleep half way through. I woke up long after ending credits went off and drug myself to bed. I was upset with myself, so I woke up the next morning (which was a Saturday) and watched the whole movie over again over my Cheerios. I love this movie. It made me laugh so hard, I mean, how funny is Mater? In Cars, hot shot race star Lighting McQueen gets lost on the Highway and finds himself in Radiator Springs, a small town off Route 66. Here he learns what is important in life, how to slow down and the value of friendship. He helps to attract tourist to the town, and then in typical Disney style heads off to the new race. Remembering what he learned in Radiator Springs, he helps "The King" (voiced of course, by Richard Petty) cross the finish line, giving up his own chance at victory. I think this movie is great for anyone. It is absolutely kid friendly, but with enough innuendos to keep adults entertained. The extra features are worth watching also, especially Mater and the Ghost Light!
