I bought this comforter for my son a few months ago; we decorated his new "big boy" room in a Cars theme, and when I went looking for a twin comforter for his new bed, I fell in love with this one! The design is really cute, and not too "babyish." There is a big picture of Lightning McQueen on the front of the comforter, and the back has lots of car and racing signs all over it. The colors are nice and dark, and look very boyish- not too bright, so I think they can be used for an older age range.
I do love the price on the comforter, too- $30.00 for a reversible comforter is a steal! I soon found out why though; this comforter is not soft AT ALL! The surface is scratchy, and it doesn't bend- it stays really stiff. I had to wash it when we first purchased it, because when we tried to put it on my son's bed, there were lines all over it from where it was folded, and it was so stiff I didn't think it would be comfortable for him at all. Washing it helped soften it slightly, but I did notice that the colors faded a bit too, even though I washed it in cold water with a mild detergent, and even dried it on low heat.
Overall, my son loves the design of the comforter, so I think it was worth getting; I just couldn't see spending a lot of money on something that he will outgrow in a few years. While I am disappointed in the quality of the comforter, I guess it reinforces the statement, "You get what you pay for."
