We love to give our dog treats, but he can get picky when it comes to new ones. He's not big on treats that he has to chew on for a long time like rawhide. My husband found these Carvers at our grocery store and decided to give them a try because they were natural and healthy, and seemed to be chewy but not too hard.

Even before the bag was opened, our dog was all over these treats. I guess he could smell them through the bag, but we couldn't. He stuck his whole snout in the bag as soon as we had the bag open! When we gave him his first one, he didn't even hesitate to take it like he usually does with new treats. He chomped it up and came back looking for more!

The treats are flat and look just like a carved piece of chicken and beef. They are about the size of my palm, which is perfect for our large dog. They are stiff treats, but not hard. They can be easily ripped into smaller pieces, but we just give the whole thing to our dog. He chews it into smaller pieces when he eats it. Being chew is nice because it means he really has to chew it and can enjoy the treat without just scarfing it down in a second.

We have given him both the chicken and the beef flavors of these treats and he loves them both. They smell just like jerky that people eat, so they don't leave his breath real stinky. They are made with over 80% real beef or chicken so they are very healthy for him, which is a great bonus!
