We have a built-in desk on the second floor of our 80 year old house where we have our family desktop set up. Since the desk was not built with the ergonomics of computer use in mind, the desktop is rather high. This means we have to use a chair with a higher than average seat height in order to be comfortable at the computer. On a recent trip to Staples, I thought I'd see what my options were for a new desk chair. I came across this inexpensive, armless chair (Casdin Model # 709054), which was normally priced at $79.99. After trying out the floor model and adjusting its seat to various heights, I decided to buy it.
My husband was tasked with assembling the chair once I got it home. Now usually when I ask him to put something together, he spends the entire time mumbling under his breath, but this chair went together quickly and with next to no mumbling at all!
The seat is able to adjust about 2 inches higher than the other options I tried out in the store. That makes it high enough so that even my seven year old can sit comfortably while online. The hard plastic casters make it easy to move the chair around while at the desk, and the seat and backrest are a padded pseudo-leather which are easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
For the money, I am quite happy with this chair. It fit the bill perfectly without breaking the bank. What more could I ask for?
